Bred to Rubignon for an April 2012 Foal

Lugana was the champion of her 2001 Hanoverian Mare Inspection and is an elite eligible mare. Both her sire and her dam were imported from Europe.
Sire, Lortzing, an imported, fully approved and licensed stallion by the German Hanoverian Verband, The American Hanoverian Society, the International Sporthorse Registry and the Oldenburg Verband. He is a 16.3 hand German-bred black hanoverian stallion, his bloodlines combine a proven heritage of the best dressage and jumping talent. Lortzing arrived in the United States after six years of outstanding service at the State Stud Farm in Celle, Germany. Lortzing passed the 100 day testing at Adelheisdorf in 1982 with an exceptional score of 129. He was 5th our of 39 horses tested. Lortzing holds the distinction of having been one of six horses on the German Black and White Quadrille, that traveled throughout Europe and Canada. In 1991, under rider/trainer, Shelley Lawder, Lortzing qualified to go to the Pan-Am Games Trials at the USET Headquarters, New Jersey and won the team silver medal at the National Olympic Festival at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Lotzing sired four approved stallions in Germany before he left and several State Premium mares. Lortzing is a 5 star stallion with the ISR/OLD.
Dam, EM Very Best was imported from Germany. She was honored when awarded the St. Premium status in Germany after winning all mare tests she entered.
Dam Sire, Varus especially lovely type, impressive and full of vitality. Big outline though very together, endowed with lots of muscle. Very gifted in dressage, outstanding in jumping. First class basic paces. Varus is by Vollkorn xx who was famed for siring easy to ride, willing and capable performance horses. He had 248 offspring competing in dressage and 191 in show jumping. Many Olympic jumpers carrried his name in their bloodlines.
