HDS Summer Show 06/14/2010

Gran Casso put in a stellar performance at his latest horse show, the HDS Summer Shows I&II. On Saturday, he scored an impressive 73.9% at training 2 and a 74% at training 4. He is now qualified for both SWDC & GAIG/USDF Championships at Training Level. He was also Summer Show I National Levels Open Reserve Champion. We also were entered in the Adult Team Competition and won Champion of our division. Sunday was a great day as well with Gran Casso scoring a 69% at Training 2 and a 68% at Training 4. We are so proud of him!!!

I am also very proud of my training horses, Willa-B ("Willo") a hanoverian mare by Wendepunkt. She has been in training for several months now. She has been coming back from a suspensory injury and is doing wonderfully in  her training. She is owned by Dawn Dugan of Connecticut. Willo scored a 71% in her first ever class at her first ever show! Her other performances were also super with a 69%, tying with Gran Casso for first place in training 2! She also scored two 65%. The other training horse I showed was Feyock, an imported Westfalen gelding owned by Amy Denny of Timber Ghost Stables. Feyock is a very talented horse and after only two months in training after a couple of years hiatus, he put in a great showing at first level, earning two 65.5%, a 67% and a 68%! He is now qualified for Southwest Dressage Championships at first level and he also earned the Westfalen High Point Award at HDS Summer Show I!

Our first foal of the year has arrived! Santana (Sonntagskind x EM Atlanta) is a chestnut colt born around 1:40am Thursday April 15. He shares the exact same markings as his big brother, Bacarro. Little Santana is doing great and is already cantering around the stall. Mom and baby are doing fine. EM Atlanta will be bred to jumper stallion Landfriese II on her 30 day heat for a 2011 foal.

Our second foal, Florestern, arrived about 7:45pm on 4/21. He is a bay colt with three socks. He is the first foal by Furst Klasse (Florestan I/Donnerhall/Rubinstein I) and we couldn't be more impressed. He has a lot of presence and looks like he will make a great sporthorse. Lugana will be bred back to Furst Klasse for a repeat of this fabulous colt!

Our final foal of the year, Glorianna, was born mid-day on 5/3. She is our only Gran Casso foal of the year and is out of our maiden Rainbow mare, Reigner. This chestnut filly is quite a looker with lots of refinement, nice conformation and a beautiful face. She also looks like she will be quite tall! We are so impressed with this filly, that Reigner will be bred back to Gran Casso this June.

Delaney is confirmed in foal to Freestyle!! We are so thrilled with how our 2008 Freestyle/Delaney colt, Freedance, is maturing, that we decided we would like to repeat the cross!

HDS Spring Show 04/26/2010

This past weekend was the HDS Spring Show and Gran Casso and Waren did not disappoint! Gran Casso earned a 67.5% and a 69.9% at Training 4 and a very impressive 79.9% in Materiale. He is now qualified for SWDC at Training Level and needs one more score to qualify for USDF/GAIG Region 9 Championships at Training Level. Warendorf had a great show as well. Over the weekend he qualified for SWDC and USDF/GAIG Championships at Third Level. He also made is fourth level debut and got the first score towards our USDF Silver Medal!

ADA Spring Show 03/24/2010

On March 13, Gran Casso's second foal of the year was born in Ohio. Wendy Sieg is the new owner of a handsome chestnut colt!

This past weekend, Gran Casso and I attended the ADA Spring Shows. He behaved like a perfect gentleman and is doing better every time he gets out to the show. He scored in the 60's in all of his classes, and earned a 67.5% on training 2. He is training very well at home and we are excited about the future spring shows. We will be headed to Katy on April 23-25 for the HDS Spring Classic. Gran Casso will be competing in materiale, training level and the four year old test. Warendorf will be competing at third level and will make his fourth level debut!

Gran Casso's first colt has arrived! Congrats to Christine Richards on the arrival of her healthy new addition, Desmond! Desmond is out of a 14H Paint/TB Mare and looks a lot like our outstanding filly, Jypsy Rose. Gran Casso really stamps them!  You can see photo's on Gran Casso's offspring pages.
